Robert Ogden

Rob has been serving at Mt. Rose Church since 1978 – long enough to have seen a few things, and to have faithfully shepherded this church through them.

He and his wife Dawna are both native Nevadans and have been married since 1975. Together they have three daughters, three sons-in-law, and eight grandchildren.

Rob studied at Eastfield College, Dallas Bible College, and the University of Nevada, where he earned a Master’s degree in Philosophy. He has been an ordained minister in the Evangelical Free Church of America since 1981.

More than anything, Rob brings decades of steady, thoughtful leadership and a deep commitment to teaching Scripture clearly.

Steve Mapa

Steve serves as one of the pastors at Mt. Rose Church. He and his wife Jessica met at the University of Nevada and have been married since 2007. They are raising their family here in Reno, which is one of his greatest joys.

Steve has completed theological studies at Multnomah University and Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary, earning both a Master of Divinity and Master of Theology. His academic interests include the theology of the English Puritans – especially John Owen, whom he may or may not quote more often than necessary.

When he’s not reading, Steve enjoys the mountains, good coffee, and getting out on his motorcycle.

He brings a careful, thoughtful approach to teaching and genuinely enjoys getting to know people.

Jeff Yoshimoto

Jeff has been part of Mt. Rose Church since 1993 and now serves as an elder.

Originally from California, Jeff met his wife Grace in a Spanish class at UC Davis – a class that turned out to be more important than he ever expected. They were married two years later and now have two children. Together, they have continued to grow in their faith over the years.

Jeff holds a Master’s degree in Water Science and works in an environmental lab. He is also an arborist and still enjoys working with his hands – something that began with racing and repairing bikes in his earlier years.

Jeff brings a steady presence, practical wisdom, and a long history of faithful service within the church.

Bradd Briggs

Brad leads music and worship at Mt. Rose Church.

He is a graduate of the University of Nevada, Reno and the University of Phoenix, and works as a Project Manager with NV Energy. Between project management, family life, church service, and hockey, Brad is familiar with both structure and chaos – sometimes all in the same week.

Brad and his wife are raising their children here in Reno, and their family is a meaningful part of the life of the church.

In worship, Brad’s desire is simple: to help the congregation sing truthfully, reverently, and as one body gathered before the Lord. He brings a steady presence to the church’s music ministry and serves with a clear love for worship, Scripture, and the gathered people of God.
