Some things about our church may feel a little different at first.

That’s intentional.

Throughout church history, Christians have often had to return to a simple question:

What has God actually said?

We want our beliefs and practices to be shaped by God’s Word – not preference, habit, or what happens to be popular at the moment.

Scripture at the Center

We believe God speaks through His Word, and that it is the final authority for what we believe and how we live.

Because of that, Scripture doesn’t just support what we do…it determines it.

We read it, explain it, and work through it carefully over time rather than moving quickly from topic to topic.

The goal isn’t simply to cover ground, but to understand what God has actually said and to be shaped by it.

Worship Shaped by Truth

We believe worship is our response to who God is and what He has done – not something we try to create by managing or stirring up emotions.

So rather than aiming to create a certain kind of atmosphere, we aim to structure our gatherings around what is true.

That conviction leads us to prioritize clarity, reverence, and attentiveness over pace or production.

We love enthusiasm for God – we just don’t try to manufacture it.

Why Children Are in the Service

We believe children are part of the church, not separate from it.

Because of that, we don’t remove them from the main service. Instead, they remain with us as we read Scripture, sing, pray, and sit under teaching together.

That can be challenging at times.

Kids don’t always sit perfectly still.

But over time, they begin to learn the rhythms of worship, understand more of what they hear, and recognize that they belong here.

We see that as part of how faith is formed, not just taught.

Spiritual Growth That Isn’t Rushed

We believe spiritual growth is ordinarily gradual.

Scripture shows that God uses the regular life of the church – especially the preaching of His Word, prayer, and the Lord’s Supper – to shape His people over time.

Because of that, we focus on steady faithfulness rather than constant change or novelty.

It may not feel dramatic, but it is how lasting growth happens.

Stability in Leadership

We believe the church is meant to be led by elders who shepherd, teach, and care for the congregation over time.

That kind of leadership isn’t built quickly – it’s formed through years of knowing people, teaching consistently, and walking through life together.

Our elders have served here for years – even decades – and that continuity shapes how we teach, how we make decisions, and how we care for people.

Come see what this looks like in person.

Welcome to Mt. Rose Church!

A place for thoughtful faith and steady growth.
